Gurz Adan typically manifests himself as a large man or giant; in either case he has black hair, a red beard trimmed neatly, and luminous green eyes, whose brightness reflect his mood. He most commonly wears armor fashioned from the skulls of innocents slaughtered in battles. He will wield either a two-handed sword or a halberd; should he appear on his black steed, Drapier, he may bear a mace instead. He is always accompanied by several of the Hounds of War.
On rare occasions he has been known to manifest himself as an injured war veteran, as well.
